I'm Kasper "Klemme" Ebdrup. 20 Years old here. I Live in Copenhagen, Denmark and lived here all my life.
I started out playing drums at the age of four and began taking formal lessons a year later from a good teacher at a local Child-Music school. Fortunenately there were a whole band of musicians at my age at that time, so with a great teacher we started getting together and play some basic Tunes etc.
The early introduction to music for me did however give me a backslap, I wanted to play with other dudes and not myself, So i've allways been what you call heh... A good Musician, but a bad Student.
Right Now I'm working fulltime in a big CD-store to compensate my purchase of my new appartment, However i'm with seven bands and teaching two students at the moment, so the schedule and free-time is tight. When the economy looks better, I migt take-off and do drumming full-time.
I love to Cook, History, Swimming, Biking etc.

Sup everyone, my name is Sammy J and I play in a band called the apex theory. Grew up in a small town called Chimacum, Wa. where I was self taught. Eventually moved to L.A. to study at PIT where I met and lived with the founder of this forum Steve Holmes, (lot of stories there [img]smile.gif[/img] ). I've played with a few people here or there like Ricky Lee Jones, taught at PIT, but now committed fully to my band apex. I love sports (basketball), space exploration, political awareness, Sci-Fi, women, practicing till it hurts, cats, motorcycles, banana cake, and my Mom.

Moved to Florida 13 years ago and have stayed busy since.

I must also say that this forum is miles ahead of all the others in its maturity, level of discussion, and because it is frequented by serious musicians and enthusiasts who really know what they are talking about. I'm fairly new here so let me introduce myself.
I live in Aberdeen, Scotland. I'm 19 years old. Started playing when I was 8 so I've been playing for 11 years now. I gig around the north-east playing a wide variety of gigs: from straight-ahead and contemporary jazz to hip-hop, funk, fusion, and function gigs. Got my LCM grade 8 distinction a few years ago, and have had the chance to study with Steve Davis, and Gene Jackson. After getting a partial scholarship I will be moving to Boston in January to study at Berklee. So I'm practicing like a motha right now. My aim is to become a well rounded versatile drummer, who can play straight ahead authentically.

Hello fellow drumheads!
John Stevenson is the name. Mechanic by trade, although at one time wanted to do full time pro-drumming for a living. I was born in Hollywood, Ca. and raised in the San Fernando Valley.
I started playing at around age 11 and took lessons with Henry Bellson originally. Went on to study with Greg Bissonette, Bob Lobato, Dave Karasony (thru osmosis), Randy Drake, a lesson with Alex Acuna and even our most honored Steve Holmes, and currently with Tony Pia and Freddy Gruber.
I still suck, but some of the bands I've played with are Jacob and Julia (www.jacobandjulia.com), Dennis Jones, and the current (as of 2 years ago) BrandX (with Mick Jones). Otherwise it's been mostly cover bands and similar stuff nobodys ever heard of.
I'm a mechanic by trade and know quite a few of the heavy cats/working dudes out there. Being a mechanic in this town has given me a certain advantage getting to know these folks. It's enrichened my life more than anyone could possibly imagine. So glad to have these people as close friends.
Otherwise.... mountain biking, kickboxing/mixed martial arts, politics, eating (alot lately!!) and building and racing cars are passions of mine along with of course music.

Hi everyone. My name is Danny Kim and I began my formal studies in drums in 1970. I'm still working on making 2&4 on the snare and 1&3 on the kick FEEL good. Some folks I've studied with are Dan Collins, Ferris, Rick Lotter, Gregg Bissonette, John Ferraro, and watched and learned from all the greats, including a few on this board.
Born and raise in CA, moved to LA in 1987 to become a rock star. Played in a band with Joe's Mechanic where he was playing drums and I was playing keyboards. Now, I play once a month at church (one of the largest Korean American churches in the US). My day job for the past 16 years is the world of advertising. Specifically, I lead technology for various advertising agencies, including Publicis, Leo Burnett, and Saatchi & Saatchi.
This is THE best drumming forum out there. This is a true community. Steve, Derek, and Randy do a great job of keeping out the trolls.

Hi everyone. I found this board over the weekend and was duly impressed. When I watched the "Traditional Grip" movie, I knew I had to register!
I'm a full-time drummer/teacher in Southern California. I studied with Roy Burns, Tony Pia and Chuck Silverman. I co-own the Orange County Music Academy (www.ocmusicacademy.com) where I teach and run the financial aspects of the business. I also play in a cover band (www.partyjones.com) and freelance on the side. In the past, I played with Scotland Yard and Liaison. Currently, the studio and my cover band take up the majority of my time.
I'm very impressed with the knowledge and maturity level of this board. I've already gleaned a lot of good info regarding technique as well as some confirmation on things. I look forward to seeing you all on the boards and thanks for having me!

Ello all! Darren Altman here from London - 32 years old. I started playing at the age of 8 in local big bands and orchestras and went to Trinity College of Music, Leeds College od Music and The Guildhall School of Music respectively.
I am a full time professional drummer and play in bands, jazz ensembles, pop bands etc and record music for film and tv. I also teach in 2 schools.
This is such a fantastic forum, the guys on here are so friendly and as I have recently learnt, will go out of their way to help share music and videos. (You know who you are!! [img]wink.gif[/img] )

Name's Pete Berven, live in Minneapolis, MN.... I play poker for a living (believe it or not) and recently joined a band called Grayson, with whom I will be playing full time after the first of the year.
I've played drums pretty much my whole life, but have only taken a handful of lessons over the years.
I started a Blog on MySpace, which is mostly to keep my family off my back for never calling and gives me something to do between hands on PokerRoom.
Aside from that, I dig this board because too often the anonymity of the internet turns people into complete jackasses, but I've never found that here. Everyone seems to have a mutual respect for one another and take differences of opinion with a grain of salt.
